OmniCut

FAQ

General

Is OmniCut free?

Yes. The Free plan gives you access to all three modules (Converter, Timeline Editor, AI Tools) with no time limit. The only restriction is that exports are capped at 720p resolution.

Does OmniCut require an internet connection?

No. OmniCut is a fully offline native desktop application. All processing — including AI features — runs locally on your machine. An internet connection is only needed to download the app and check for updates.

What platforms does OmniCut support?

Windows 10+ (64-bit), macOS 12 Monterey or later (Intel and Apple Silicon), and Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+ or equivalent).

Plans & Pricing

What is a “module”?

OmniCut has three core modules:

  • Converter — format conversion, batch processing, audio extraction
  • Timeline Editor — multi-track NLE editing, effects, color grading
  • AI Tools — upscaling, noise removal, captions, background removal

Each module is a distinct set of features. Paid plans let you choose which modules to unlock at full resolution.

Can I switch my selected modules after purchasing?

Yes. You can change your module selection at any time from your account settings. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

What resolution does each plan support?

PlanMax resolution
Free720p
Basic4K
Pro4K
Ultra8K

Is there a yearly billing option?

Yes. Yearly billing saves 20% compared to monthly. You can switch between billing periods on the Pricing page.

Do you offer student or educational discounts?

Yes. Email us at hello@omnicut.app with your institution email for a 50% discount on any paid plan.

Technical

Why is AI processing slow?

AI processing is GPU-accelerated. If you don’t have a supported GPU, OmniCut falls back to CPU processing, which is significantly slower. See the AI Tools hardware requirements for recommended specs.

Can I use OmniCut on multiple computers?

Yes. Your license is tied to your account, not a specific machine. You can activate OmniCut on up to 3 devices simultaneously.

Where are my project files stored?

Projects are stored locally on your machine. Default locations:

  • Windows: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\OmniCut\Projects\
  • macOS: ~/Documents/OmniCut/Projects/
  • Linux: ~/OmniCut/Projects/

How do I report a bug?

Open a GitHub Issue with steps to reproduce, your OS version, and OmniCut version. Screenshots or screen recordings are very helpful.

How do I request a feature?

Start a GitHub Discussion in the Ideas category. Upvoted requests are reviewed for the roadmap.
