AI Tools

The AI Tools module provides a suite of AI-powered video processing features. All models run locally on your machine — no internet connection required, no files uploaded to any server.

Available tools

ToolWhat it does
AI UpscalingUpscale video to 2x, 4x (up to 8K) using neural networks
Noise RemovalRemove grain, compression artifacts, and low-light noise
Smart Scene DetectionAutomatically detect cuts and scene boundaries
Auto-CaptionsGenerate subtitles from speech in 30+ languages
Background RemovalRemove or replace video backgrounds without a green screen
Style TransferApply cinematic looks and styles to footage

AI Upscaling

  1. Open AI Tools → Upscaling
  2. Import your source video
  3. Choose a scale factor: 2x, 4x
  4. Select a model: Standard (faster) or Enhanced (higher quality)
  5. Click Process

Note: 8K output requires the Ultra plan. 4K output requires Basic, Pro, or Ultra.

Noise Removal

  1. Open AI Tools → Noise Removal
  2. Import your video
  3. Adjust the Strength slider (0–100)
  4. Preview a frame before processing the full video
  5. Click Process

Works best on footage with consistent noise patterns (low-light, high-ISO, compressed web video).

Smart Scene Detection

  1. Open AI Tools → Scene Detection
  2. Import your video
  3. Adjust the Sensitivity threshold
  4. Click Detect
  5. Review detected cuts in the scene list
  6. Export as a chapter list, EDL, or send directly to the Timeline Editor

Auto-Captions

  1. Open AI Tools → Captions
  2. Import your video
  3. Select the spoken language
  4. Click Generate
  5. Review and edit captions in the built-in editor
  6. Export as SRT, VTT, or burn into the video

Supported languages include English, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and 20+ more.

Background Removal

  1. Open AI Tools → Background Removal
  2. Import your video
  3. Choose output: Transparent (exports as ProRes 4444 or WebM with alpha) or Replace (choose a color or image)
  4. Click Process

Works best with clear subject-background contrast. For complex scenes, use the Refine Edges tool to clean up the mask.

Style Transfer

  1. Open AI Tools → Style Transfer
  2. Import your video
  3. Choose a style preset (Cinematic, Anime, Oil Painting, etc.) or upload a reference image
  4. Adjust Strength (0–100)
  5. Click Process

Hardware requirements

AI processing is GPU-accelerated. Recommended:

  • NVIDIA: RTX 2060 or newer (CUDA)
  • AMD: RX 6600 or newer (ROCm on Linux, DirectML on Windows)
  • Apple Silicon: M1 or newer (Metal Performance Shaders)

CPU fallback is available but significantly slower.
